The length of your lessons are entirely flexible to your individual needs, most learners will have a 1 hour or a 2 hour lesson, but longer lessons can be accommodated. The amount of lessons per week are again suited to your individual needs and also availability. We do recommend having at least 1 lesson per week and for a beginner we recommend 2hour lessons and lessons to be close together. Terms and conditions apply Click here for information.

How many hours will it take to learn?

Figures released by DVSA shows that on average in the UK, learner drivers are having 45 hours of practice with a driving instructor and 22 hours of private practice. Every individual is different in terms of how they learn and so the common question of ‘how many lessons do you think I need?’ is a very hard question to answer honestly and accurately.

At Monties Driving School, we believe that learning to drive should not be rushed, a common phrase to use is ‘practice makes perfect’. No driver is perfect on the road, every person in every walk of life makes mistakes, but the more practice undertaken, the less mistakes will be made. So what we do here at Monties Driving School, not only gets you ready for your driving test, but aims to give you skills for life to deal with modern day driving.
